Generate an MCP config for your client
Need a Claude Code MCP config, a Cursor MCP JSON example, or a clean way to add an MCP server to another client? Pick your app, set the server name and URL, and copy a verified snippet in seconds. The generator updates live as you switch clients, transport, and token settings.
How it works
- 1
Choose the client
Select Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, VS Code, Zed, Gemini CLI, Cline, or OpenCode. The generator swaps in that client's documented MCP config shape.
- 2
Enter your server details
Set the server name, point the URL at your Kanboard MCP endpoint, and choose Streamable HTTP unless the client has a documented SSE form.
- 3
Reference a token safely
Add an optional token environment variable name so the snippet can reference a secret without hardcoding a real API key into config.
- 4
Copy and verify
Copy the snippet, save it in the file the client expects, and use the verify steps to confirm the server appears and responds in the client UI.
FAQ
Why does this generator focus on Streamable HTTP?
Kanboard's MCP server is remote and documented for Streamable HTTP. Most MCP clients connect to it that way, so the generator defaults to the documented, copy-runnable form instead of inventing an SSE variant.
Can I use my own server name?
Yes. The server name is parameterized so you can label the connection however you want in each client, while the URL and auth settings stay accurate.
What should I do with my API key?
Never commit a real token. Reference an environment variable when the client supports it; otherwise use the placeholder shown in the snippet and paste the real key only into the client's secret store.
Where do I find the full setup guide?
Every generated snippet links to the matching /mcp/{client} page, where you can read the full setup notes, quirks, and verification steps for that client.
Need a board your agent can manage?
Kanboard's MCP server works with the clients in this generator — connect one, then let your agent read tasks, move work, and ship faster.
