A Kanban Template for Planning, Approving, and Repurposing Social Posts
Managing a social calendar across multiple channels means juggling drafts, approvals, publishing dates, and repurposing ideas without losing track of what's live where. This Social Media Board template gives marketing and content teams a kanban board that turns scattered post ideas into a clear pipeline: from first draft through internal approval, scheduled publishing, and finally repurposing into new formats. Each column maps to a real stage in a content team's workflow, with sample tasks you can edit directly or hand off to an AI agent via the MCP server to keep the queue moving without manual board updates.

AI agent usage
An AI agent connected via the MCP server can keep this social board moving automatically: pulling new ideas into Idea Backlog, nudging stale drafts, checking approval status, and creating repurposing tasks once a post is marked scheduled or published, so your team spends less time on manual board upkeep.
This project uses a 5-column kanban board: Idea Backlog, Drafting, Approval, Scheduled, Repurpose. When creating tasks, add new content ideas to Idea Backlog. When a post is approved, move its task from Approval to Scheduled using move_task and confirm a publish date is in the description. When a task in Scheduled is marked done, create a corresponding task in Repurpose suggesting one new format (blog, thread, or short-form video). Use list_tasks to check for stale items sitting in Drafting or Approval for more than 3 days and flag them.Learn more about the board-centric workflow in Kanban for AI Agents or open the MCP guide.
The free plan supports 1 project with up to 25 tasks total, which covers a solid rolling queue of ideas, drafts, and scheduled posts for a single channel or small team.
Yes, you can customize the board and add up to 6 columns total. Many teams split Scheduled into channel-specific columns if they need finer tracking.
The Approval column is designed to hold tasks until sign-off; you can use task descriptions to note which reviewer is responsible, and move tasks forward once approved.
Yes. Using the MCP server, an AI agent can create, update, and move tasks between columns, letting you automate idea capture, approval checks, and repurposing suggestions.
You'll need to archive or delete completed tasks, or upgrade to the pro plan ($12/mo or $96/yr) for higher task limits and additional projects.
Yes, the board works through the kanban board interface, keyboard shortcuts and command palette for quick navigation, and there's also a macOS app available.
